When I began researching for and developing Resting Place back in 2012 I wrote 2 blog posts about pillowcases (read them here and here) and these very early thoughts became the basis for the pillowcases installation that resulted and has now become the core of the project. For each event the pillowcases ha

In Margate, Ticehurst, Newark, Liverpool, Calais and Sydney  – silent knitting The pattern for the lace comes from the archive of WW1 VAD Nurse Clarice Spratling. This pattern, handwritten in her notebook dated 1908 is one amongst several others but seemed the most appropriate to use. The symbol of a four leaf clover has been seen a

It’s a YES from the Arts Council

The application to ACE was a very stressful and time-consuming process and one that would not have been made possible without the unwavering support from John McKiernan of Platform-7. The decision to take Resting Place forward as a collaboration has proved itself to be the right one. There is now a lot of work to be done in order for the first live Resting Place event to take place on Sept 29th 2013 in Ellington Park, Ramsgate and more news will be posted soon. In the meantim
