A Flower Arrangement In Every Room

Working from photos has been a big part of my practise for many years, but they are normally old photos and primarily from my family archive. Recording my Mum’s home was really the first time I had used photographs as a tool to create an archive, because in hindsight, that is exactly what i did. Much of my focus over the past 18 months has been with my residency at Canterbury Cathedral and all my writing has been over on my a-n blog which is purely about the residency. Now that project has come to an end I am at last beginning a new body of work for an exhibition entitled Neither use Nor Ornament which will take place at Ovada, Oxford and opens at the end

    Never ending circles

I am currently in the middle of reading this book and excited by the connections it has revealed. *Death, Memory and Material Culture by Elizabeth Hallam and Jenny Hockey A book about the process of remembering and memorializing and the objects associated with this process. It has always been important to me that there is integrity in the things I make and reading material such as this helps to inform this. It is not important that this background research is evident to the v
